Research

Comparative Literature is a capacious field, open to a variety of research foci across linguistic, national, cultural, and disciplinary boundaries.

We compare literatures from a wide array of languages and historical periods, and in so doing constantly rethink the critical theories and comparative practices in which we are engaged.

Our areas of research include:

  • Literatures in English, Russian, French, and German
  • Multilingual texts and practices
  • Migrations and diasporas
  • Transcultural literatures
  • Literature and other fields of discourse
  • Aesthetics
  • Literary theory
